VoteSOA and MDA with Acceleo
WS, JBI, SCA, EAI, BPMS... All these acronyms are great new steps to improve scalability and reliability of architecture software design. But how many developers can manage this new complexity and how optimize their use with functionnal needs ?
The MDA approach, which promize cost and delay reduction by the use of models, is a strong answer to reduce this gap between analyst and technical teams.
This presentation will discuss about links between MDA and SOA, and how to keep agility for software evolutions.
We will illustrate the deployment of new architectural rules by the use of Acceleo, a software factory built on the top of Eclipse to allow massive source code generation.

VoteThe SOA Entreprise Portal
The entreprise portal has grown from websites and CMSes to be an integrated part of the information system, comprising messaging, HR applications, collaboration and even business applications. Being by nature transversal and business-oriented, the SOA philosophy provides a context where the entreprise portal will become the emerged part of the information system architecture, giving access to ESB-integrated applications and services but as well giving a dynamic view and control over their high-level integration through business processes and workflow. The goal of this presentation is to outline the future of the Entreprise Portal in light of SOA philosophy and BPM dynamics.

SOA for eBusiness and mBusiness solutions
We, EdifiXio, have build a Service Oriented Platform to implement eBusiness and mBusiness applications for our customers.
Open standards and Open Source components help us to reduce development costs and to increase interoperability and choices for our platform.
We've joined the ObjectWeb consortium to participate to projects and initiatives within the consortium and to develop partnership with other members.
We propose to present use cases of our SOA platform emphasizing on the benefits for our customer. We will also explain describe the benefits of being ObjectWeb member as well as our contribution to the ObjectWeb eco system.

Achieving Entreprise Information Integration
Software- and more largely system integration is a major issue in entreprises. ESB aims, by the standardisation of data formats and thus of data connectors, to solve the exponential complexity of integrating various applications in order to increase the value of the data they share. However "data" and not "service" is for entreprises the atomic unit of value. The goal of this presentation is therefore to bring forward the atomic lens of "data" instead of "service" point of view in ESB and showcase a few common technical problematics that arise in such actual integration, such as file formats handling, database handling, and bringing all networked data onto the desktop.

ObjectWeb Pieces for the SOA Puzzle
This presentation will give a technical overview of ObjectWeb's activities in the SOA space. After a brief presentation of middleware projects and the SOA domain, the talk will focus on the Enterprise Service Bus. There will be a technical discussion of the ESB concepts and the JBI standard followed by a presentation of several ObjectWeb projects which are involved in realising the ESB vision of ObjectWeb. The talk will also highlight ObjectWeb's involvement in the creation of top-quality SOA development tools by giving an overview of the participation in the Eclipse SOA Tools Platform project.

ObjectWeb ESB initiative : an open development process for integration and SOA
No presentation abstract
VoteWhat defines SOA and how can Open Source respond to its challenges ?
Until those last years, integration market has been largely dominated by commercial solutions. Mainly those were monolithic EAI solutions. But with emergence of Open Source has blown a wind of standardisation that has spread to integration. This has led to give a new interest to integration just where EAI solutions failed. New standards such as JBI and SCA have emerged, directly aiming integration problematics which is almost always a catalyst for Open Source projects. The goal of this presentation is to give a 10.000 feet overview of what SOA is and how Open Source finds its way to this market.

Are Open Source EAI soultions mature for professional use?
Companies and organizations nowadays deploy a large number of heterogeneous systems for common tasks as well as for core busines specific tasks. Along with the growth of the IT-infrastructure the need for system integration is rapidly growing.
A plethora of integration solutions with plenty of functionalities is meeting these needs.
Especially for SMEs, these proprietary solutions also come along with some pitfalls like high costs or low support quality. But also larger companies are struggling with vendor dependence or the lack of open standards that put the safety of investment at risk. The “FreeGate Market Survey of Open Source EAI Software Solutions” explores the maturity of Open Source integration solutions by the application of a staged validation process and evaluates if they already represent a serious alternative for the use in a professional production environment.
In terms of these alternatives the Centre de Recherche Henri Tudor develops together with academician and economical partners an Open Source based solution that is tailored to the needs of SMEs and organizations.

Scientific software and collaborative platforms: Application fields for SOA.
In scientific computing, one of the current issues is the improvement of the inter-operability between heterogeneous services and models, like simulation codes and data processing. The first generation of CAD-CAM platforms tried to reach this goal. However, not taking into account enough a service-oriented aspect, they actually led to heavy designs and technological choices difficult to use for a scientific community without deep knowledge in software design. Farther more, the next step is today to control and link together remote and distributed scientific services, through simple and easy-to-use tailored solutions. This is one of the challenges addressed the frame of the Scorware project with the feasibility study of an exchange bus for future scientific Integrated Modelling Environments (IME), where the SOA approach will be investigated in detailed. Another challenge is the inter-operability between collaborative platforms and groupware tools. An example is the reinforcement of the link between software forges, like LibreSource, and generic solutions of Web portal. As well as for IMEs, the simplicity of the solution and its capability to be easily adapted to the tailored and specific needs are key factors to build up a solution largely accepted by final users. In the frame of the ScorWare project, part of questions will be addressed through SOA and discussed here.
